Be Kind To Your Tech Support Representative

As some of you may know, I work as a tech support rep.  For what company/contract, I won't say, because I have to protect myself somehow.

I bring that up to say this:  When you call tech support, remember who you're talking to.

He/She is not the person who controls how much you pay.

He/She does not directly receive his/her pay from your bill.

He/She has DEFINITELY talked to someone in a worse situation than you and had to give them worse news.

You are not special.

You are not unique.

Your problem will be fixed eventually.

What you may find, though, is that the kinder you are to your representative, the more they are willing to bend the rules to help you out.

And maybe...just maybe...bake you cookies.

First off, I'm doing this under duress.

Second, Welcome to Creatively Cognitive, a blog about whatever I say it is about.

However many times a week I feel like posting, I'll have something on here.  Could be anything from rants about my life (I HATE TRAFFIC) to random musings.  I'll try to keep it entertaining, but mostly for myself.

As this is a knee jerk reaction to peer pressure from my girlfriend/life partner/task master, I don't have as much prepared this week...

That being said, I leave you with one piece of advice.

Never get a job in tech support.  It will suck the life out of you.  And if you already have a significant other, you don't need another thing doing that (Just kidding, love you babe).
